Exodus 10

Good afternoon y’all. Today we continue our study of Exodus. We are in chapter 10 🙂

I pray you are blessed as you read 🙂

Pride will keep us bound in sin and blind us to the truth. Pharaoh’s officials had had enough of the plagues and probably started to believe that the God of the Israelites is not a God you mess around with.

“Pharaoh’s officials now came to Pharaoh and appealed to him. “How long will you let this man hold us hostage? Let the men go to worship the Lord their God! Don’t you realize that Egypt lies in ruins?”” (Exodus 10:7 NLT)

They went to Pharaoh and told him to let the people go so they can worship their God, so an end can come to the disasters happening in Egypt. Pharaoh on the other hand was not yet ready to let them go. He was still proud. He knew God meant business but at the same time, he wasn’t ready to surrender to God. He wanted to see if he could bargain with him.

In verse 11, he told Moses only the men can go. In verse 24 he told him leave the livestock behind and everyone else go.

“Never! Only the men may go and worship the lord , since that is what you requested.” And Pharaoh threw them out of the palace”.(Exodus 10:11 NLT)

“Finally, Pharaoh called for Moses. “Go and worship the Lord ,” he said. “But leave your flocks and herds here. You may even take your little ones with you.”” (Exodus10:24 NLT)

Dude just didn’t get it. God doesn’t want half of us, He wants all of us. It’s either you are in or out. There is no in between when it comes to God. Full obedience or nothing.
God’s instruction was clear and precise – ‘Let my people go’ – Pharaoh is saying, ‘…only the men will go…’ or ‘…leave the livestock behind.’ He was asking them to compromise on God’s instruction.

Isn’t this similar to what sin does to us? It tells us it’s okay if we don’t obey fully: as long as we obey to some extent that’s fine; you can compromise with God. I beg to differ. In God’s eyes there is no such thing as compromise. It’s either you fully obey or not.

Today, Lets ask the Holy Spirit to search our hearts and reveal to us the areas we are compromising and give us grace to make amends.

Dear Lord we thank you for today. Holy Spirit, we ask you search our hearts today and if there be any evil way in us, please lead us in the way everlasting. Help us not to resist You but submit to Your work in our lives. Thank you Lord. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Thank you for joining
